Coverage matrix
Brutally honest. Green = shipped + refreshed weekly. Amber = partial / depends on what the city's open-data portal publishes. Grey dash = not available (yet).

These layers ship with every city subscription because they're federal or provincial. They apply across all 110 Canadian markets we serve.
Sortable by city. Counts the actual XLSX deliverables we generate weekly for each market.

Depth ladder: Deep = 40+ datasets covering permits, licences, inspections, capex. Mid = 15–39 datasets, core coverage live. Thin = 1–14 datasets, expanding. — = no public open-data portal yet.
"Why don't smaller cities have permit data?"
Most cities under 50,000 don't publish permits to a structured API yet. We watch their open-data sites monthly and add coverage the day they ship a feed. Until then, you get the federal + provincial layers (which still cover those markets).
"Why is Calgary's coverage so much deeper?"
Calgary is our anchor market — the founder lives there and the original product was built around it (100 datasets vs Toronto's 65). Coverage in other cities is catching up. Toronto, Vancouver, and Mississauga all gained 20+ datasets in the last 6 months.
"What if my city isn't listed at all?"
Email matthew@shovelradar.com with the city name. If it has a public open-data portal we'll usually have at least 10 datasets shipped within 7 days.
