Every commercial fire-alarm / sprinkler / fire-protection permit pulled in Calgary, with the applicant (the contracting firm) named on each row. This is NOT a list of buildings to pitch fire-safety services to — those buildings already have a contractor on the permit. It IS: 1. Competitive intelligence — which fire-safety contractors are winning the most jobs, in which quadrants, on which building types. A fire-safety contractor uses it to see where competitors are active and pitch the buildings they're losing. 2. Materials supplier intelligence — Honeywell / Kidde-Edwards / Notifier / Tyco / SimplexGrinnell distributors see which contractors are buying volume + can target them for volume pricing or new-product rollouts. 3. Insurance underwriting signal — buildings with fresh fire-alarm upgrade permits are lower-risk and may qualify for better rates.
