T3010 Charity Capex Hitlist

Canada Revenue Agency publishes the full T3010 charity-return database as bulk CSV on open.canada.ca (dataset 80c00cdb-1358-415c-bb8b-0de7f12675b8). Every registered charity in Canada files a T3010 annually, including revenue, expenditures, designation (Charitable Org / Public Foundation / Private Foundation), and program category. This product carves the bulk dump down to Calgary-region forward sortation areas (T1S/T1X-T1Z/T2*/T3*), strips out the foundations that only grant money, and ranks the survivors into three revenue tiers so a salesperson can pick the right size of org to call.

T3010 is a lagging-indicator dataset — the 2024 returns reflect the fiscal year that just ended. We're using revenue tier as a proxy for "do they have a building and a budget for capex?" A $5M+ charity almost always owns or leases premises; a $500K charity might rent a shared office. Capex decisions sit with boards on an annual cycle, usually voted around end-of-fiscal-year (Mar/Apr for most orgs).
